Prior to his current appointment, he served as Group Managing Director since 1 October 2020 and as Independent Non-Executive Director since 1 July 2020. Previously, Vice President, Downstream Marketing, Petroliam Nasional Berhad (PETRONAS) and Managing Director of PETRONAS Dagangan Berhad. He began his career as a Project Engineer at PETRONAS Gas Sdn Bhd in 1987 and later joined PETRONAS's Corporate Planning & International Business Development unit in 1992.
In 1995, he joined HICOM Holdings Berhad, assuming various senior positions. He became Senior General Manager of PERODUA in 1999, Executive Director of PERODUA Auto Corporation Sdn Bhd in 2002, and Deputy Managing Director of PERODUA in 2005. He also held key roles in Proton Holdings Berhad, RHB Bank Berhad, and RHB Islamic Bank Berhad. From July 2018 to January 2021, he was Chairman of the Board at Universiti Teknologi MARA.
He served as Chairman of the Pan Asian E-Commerce Alliance and Scanwolf Corporation Berhad until 31 December 2023. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from the University of Maryland, USA.
